The Company
Founded in 2006, A+ Bankruptcy Education is a privately-held Utah LLC engaged in the development of online learning tools and materials for debtor education. The company strives to provide high quality and cost effective debt management education for debtors finishing the U.S. bankruptcy process. Completion of a debtor education course is required before debts can be discharged, and we make debtor education as simple and straightforward as possible.
The People
Glen Young, MBA, Director of Operations
Glen Young brings several years of financial experience in new business development, healthcare marketing, education, and technology. Most recently, as a financial analyst with TechniScan Medical Systems, a leading developer of innovative breast ultrasound imaging technology and services. While at TechniScan, he worked closely with members of the senior management team and was responsible for developing company business plans, generating financial proformas, creating product marketing materials, and assisting with fundraising activities. Prior to TechniScan, Mr. Young was employed as a business turnaround specialist for a Salt Lake City based firm and worked directly with 3 of its 17 subsidiary companies while assisting with the others on an as needed basis. Glen is a serial entrepreneur and has spent several years successfully launching and rehabilitating new businesses. His experience also includes seven years in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in a broad variety of leadership and management positions. Glen enjoys teaching, and spent a year mentoring and tutoring undergraduate accounting students. Mr. Young has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Utah Valley State College and an M.B.A. from the University of Utah.
Steve Johnson, PhD, Director of Education
Dr. Steve Johnson has spent the last 22 years teaching accounting at several colleges and universities. He taught and was tenured at Brigham Young University (Hawaii campus), the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, and Utah Valley State College. The topics taught include financial and managerial accounting, budgeting, and cash management. He has also spent the last ten years designing and teaching accounting and finance course in an online MBA program for Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada. During the last three years, Steve has taken an interest in personal finance and has taught courses and performed personal financial counseling as a service to various church groups. He received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University, his Masters of Accounting specializing in tax also from Brigham Young University. He received his PhD in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He received his certificate as a Certified Public Accountant in 1980.
